Rihanna’s Fenty Luxury House to Showcase at Galeries Lafayette

Launching last spring, the new Luxury House established by singer Rihanna under the LVMH group is getting ready to make a temporary appearance at the Galeries Lafayette store on the Champs-Elysées.

During Paris Fashion Week, running from September 23rd until October 12th, the renowned luxury retail hub will exclusively exhibit creations designed by Rihanna and her team. With the Fashion & Leather Goods division of the Louis Vuitton-Moët Hennessy group experiencing a remarkable organic sales growth of 18% in the first half of 2019, including the successful launch of Fenty in May, the young House is set to unveil a selection of pieces from its initial three collections, as well as debut new silhouettes during the fashion week. All of this will be showcased in an aesthetically pleasing environment, with the brand’s signature blue color taking center stage.

After initially opening a pop-up store in Le Marais to introduce the brand and presenting at the Webster in New York, the choice of Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elysées as a display platform appears deliberate for Fenty, a brand still more inclined towards online retail than brick-and-mortar sales.

“Fenty offers women a fresh definition of luxury and a groundbreaking vision of inclusive fashion that aligns perfectly with the purpose of our store and our new retail proposition,” stated Guillaume Houzé, Director of Image and Communication at Galeries Lafayette, in an interview with WDD. Renowned for her efforts in promoting diverse body types, as seen in the Savage x Fenty lingerie collection and the highly successful Fenty Beauty cosmetics line that generated roughly 500 million euros in its first year, Rihanna aims to resonate with the values valued by Millennials, who are projected to drive the luxury sector by 50% by 2025. This target audience is shared with Galeries Lafayette Champs Elysées, which has developed a retail concept centered around non-gendered spaces, a network of multi-brand personal stylists, a personalized approach, and various phygital experiences, such as connected hangers.
