Riccardo Bellini’s New Role at Chloé

After a successful stint at Italian fashion group OTB, Riccardo Bellini is saying goodbye to Maison Margiela, the prestigious label he led since 2017. Bellini is now set to embark on a new chapter at the Swiss luxury group Richemont. Starting on December 1st, he will be taking charge at Chloé, a renowned fashion brand within Richemont’s portfolio. This transition comes following the departure of Geoffroy de la Bourdonnaye, who has been steering the ship at Chloé since 2010.

Both Chloé and Maison Margiela have issued statements regarding Bellini’s move. Chloé has expressed gratitude towards de la Bourdonnaye for his years of service and announced his departure at the end of November. Maison Margiela, on the other hand, has thanked Bellini for his dedication and hinted at an upcoming announcement regarding the appointment of a new CEO.

Bellini, a Bocconi University graduate in Economics, kicked off his career at Procter & Gamble, eventually making his way to OTB group in 2007. During his time at Diesel, he held various managerial and marketing positions before taking on leadership roles at Diesel and Diesel Black Gold. In 2017, he assumed the helm at Maison Margiela, showcasing his prowess in the fashion industry.

With Bellini set to bring his expertise to Chloé, the brand is poised for a new era under his direction. The recent partnership between Richemont and designer Alber Elbaz signals a commitment to innovation and growth within the luxury sector. Meanwhile, Maison Margiela’s extension of Creative Director John Galliano’s contract underscores their dedication to artistic excellence.
