Responsible: Revolutionizing the Streetwear Industry with Re-Commerce Platform

Responsible, a UK-based fashion platform, is set to revolutionize the streetwear industry with its launch as the world’s first fully embedded ‘re-commerce’ platform. The platform focuses on responsible streetwear and aims to enhance customer loyalty for streetwear brands. Starting from 29 November, Responsible will be available on Raeburn’s website, with more leading streetwear partners expected to join in the coming months.

Responsible functions as both a dedicated signature re-commerce store and a plug-in app that seamlessly integrates into partner brands’ digital stores. In addition to its online presence, Responsible will physically debut at the new Raeburn store in London’s Carnaby retail area.

The unique aspect of Responsible lies in its approach to encouraging customers to keep their products in rotation. The platform offers a clear financial incentive for customers to participate in its ‘Buy-Back’ program. Customers can choose to return their used streetwear garments to Responsible in exchange for store credit. Unlike other providers, Responsible takes on the cost and risk associated with the resale process, rather than operating on a consignment model. This allows brands to focus on building customer loyalty and increasing full-price sales.

Furthermore, Responsible’s plug-in is designed to seamlessly integrate into partner brands’ websites. This eliminates the hassle, risk, and expense of managing resale operations. Regardless of a brand’s size or turnover, they can rely on Responsible’s secure and stable technology, with a dedicated team available for assistance. The platform also ensures that all returned products undergo a meticulous cleaning process using ozone and UV light technology. If repairs are needed, Responsible follows brand-approved repair processes. Any items that are unfit for resale are properly recycled or upcycled, ensuring nothing goes to landfill.

By combining innovative technology and responsible practices, Responsible transforms the second-hand shopping experience. The platform ensures that the products offered maintain their premium quality, resembling new items. Mark Dowds, the Founder and CEO of Responsible, emphasizes the importance of reusing clothes to create a more sustainable fashion industry. He believes that the streetwear sector is currently underserved by existing options and that Responsible’s circular streetwear economy framework provides a solution for shoppers and brands of all sizes to engage in a more sustainable fashion model.
