Reliance Brands Ltd partners with Manish Malhotra for global expansion

Reliance Brands Ltd (RBL), a prominent retail company in India, has recently entered into a strategic partnership with fashion designer Manish Malhotra, solidifying their commitment to elevating the brand’s position in the market. As part of this collaboration, RBL has acquired a significant 40% stake in Malhotra’s MM Styles Private Limited. The aim of this investment is to not only enhance the brand’s presence and growth plans within India but also to expand globally, with a specific focus on regions such as the United States, United Kingdom, and the Middle East.

To achieve their growth objectives, RBL and Malhotra will be working together to expand the brand’s physical presence, utilizing the establishment of retail stores and pop-up shops. Additionally, they will be pursuing opportunities to strengthen the brand’s e-commerce platform. Currently, Malhotra operates four flagship stores in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Hyderabad, along with two store-in-store locations and a virtual store. With an impressive social media following of over 12 million across various platforms, the brand has already gained considerable recognition and support.

This partnership stands out as it marks the first external investment for Malhotra’s brand, which was previously privately owned by the designer himself. By partnering with RBL, he has demonstrated his confidence in their capabilities and their shared vision of propelling the brand to greater heights within the global fashion market.

Isha Ambani, director of Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd, conveyed her utmost respect for Malhotra’s craftsmanship and dedication to showcasing Indian art and culture.
