Ralph Lauren x Graduate Fashion Foundation: National Masterclasses for Aspiring Fashion Students

Ralph Lauren, the renowned luxury fashion brand, is teaming up with the Graduate Fashion Foundation to present a series of enlightening masterclasses at universities throughout the UK. These sessions, which began on November 12 at Bournemouth University and will wrap up at Edinburgh College of Art on November 16, are designed to offer valuable insights and support to aspiring fashion students venturing into the competitive world of fashion.

The masterclasses will not only be held at Bournemouth and Edinburgh but will also make stops at Epson’s University for the Creative Arts, Nottingham Trent University, and Manchester School of Art, providing students from nearby institutions with the opportunity to participate. This collaboration with the Graduate Fashion Foundation, known for organizing the annual Graduate Fashion Week, underscores the foundation’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent and empowering them with the requisite tools for success in the fashion industry.

Participants can look forward to receiving practical career advice on seizing opportunities, landing jobs, and developing a standout graduate collection. Speakers representing both Graduate Fashion Week and Ralph Lauren will share expertise on a range of topics including music selection for runway shows and tips for excelling at industry events.

Moreover, representatives from Ralph Lauren will be reviewing portfolios from second-year students for potential placements at the company’s headquarters in New York next summer. This presents a phenomenal chance for students to showcase their creative flair and potentially jumpstart their careers with a prestigious fashion label.

Martyn Roberts, the creative director of Graduate Fashion Week, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with Ralph Lauren, stating, “We are extremely proud to partner with Ralph Lauren on our 2018 Graduate Fashion Foundation series of National Masterclasses.” These initiatives are geared towards equipping undergraduates from a network of universities with industry knowledge and insights to help them navigate their entry into the fashion realm.

Looking ahead, the next edition of the Graduate Fashion Foundation Fashion Week is set to take place at The Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch on June 2-5, 2019. With over 5,000 fashion graduates participating in the event last year, it underscores the significance of providing platforms for emerging talent to showcase their creativity and gain exposure in the fashion sphere. Through the collaboration with Ralph Lauren, students across the UK are primed to receive invaluable guidance and mentorship to embark on successful careers in fashion.
