Ralph Lauren Expands Presence in Bordeaux

Ralph Lauren, the celebrated American fashion designer, has recently bolstered its presence in the French market with the unveiling of its eighth store in the city of Bordeaux. The new store is strategically situated in Bordeaux’s Golden Triangle district, specifically on the highly-frequented 26 cours de l’Intendance street, which boasts a variety of fashion retailers including Tommy Hilfiger, Balibaris, and IKKS. This exciting development aligns perfectly with Ralph Lauren’s comprehensive three-year plan, highlighting the brand’s commitment to expansion.

Spanning an impressive 350 square meters, Ralph Lauren’s Bordeaux store is home to its renowned Polo, Purple Label, and Ralph Lauren Collection lines. Complementing its clothing selection, the store also features a wide range of accessories for men and women, as well as a carefully curated assortment of home décor items. Interestingly, this newly occupied space was previously rented by Diesel, an Italian luxury brand that held a tenancy there since 2005.

This expansion in Bordeaux is a key component of Ralph Lauren’s retail deployment strategy, aptly named “Next Great Chapter: Accelerate,” which was unveiled in September. The strategy aims to achieve a compound annual growth rate of 5% to 10% over the next three years, with a particular focus on the 30 major cities that have exhibited the most promising results. Another notable aspect of this plan is the brand’s commitment to enhancing its lifestyle range.

Under the guidance of CEO Patrice Louvet, who assumed the position in July 2017, Ralph Lauren Corporation welcomed Wei Zhang, a former Alibaba executive, to its board of directors in November. The majority shareholder of the company is The Vanguard Group, an esteemed investment fund based in Pennsylvania.

Alongside the new Bordeaux establishment, Ralph Lauren operates seven other stores across France, including its flagship store on boulevard Saint Germain in Paris. Additionally, the brand recently took an innovative approach by collaborating with the massively popular video game Fortnite to release a virtual collection.

The entry of Ralph Lauren into the Bordeaux market demonstrates the brand’s unwavering commitment to expansion and providing French customers with its high-quality products. With its prime location and exceptional offerings, the new store is poised to attract a diverse clientele, comprising both local shoppers and tourists.
