Provisional Schedule for London Fashion Week

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has recently released the provisional schedule for the highly anticipated London Fashion Week (LFW), which is set to take place from 17-21 February. This edition of LFW will be a hybrid event, combining both digital and physical elements in response to the ongoing pandemic. It is hoped that this will be the first LFW to regain a sense of normalcy since before the pandemic.

The September edition of LFW, known as SS23, was unfortunately marred by the passing of the Queen, which led to the cancellation and rescheduling of shows and events. However, with the announcement of the provisional schedule for AW23, the fashion industry is filled with optimism. The schedule includes both menswear and womenswear designers, with Burberry’s highly anticipated collection under the new creative direction of Daniel Lee being a particular highlight.

In addition to Burberry, other notable designers to look out for during LFW include Christopher Kane, Erdem, Molly Goddard, Roksanda, and Simone Rocha. The specific dates and times for the physical and digital shows and presentations will be announced in January, building anticipation for the event.

In addition to the runway shows, the BFC has revealed that there will be a series of events and activations to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its renowned Newgen initiative. Newgen is globally recognized as the most established designer development scheme, having been established in 1993. The year-long celebration will kick off at LFW in February, providing an exciting opportunity for the creative community to come together.

The Newgen Show Space will make its return to The Old Selfridges Hotel, showcasing a lineup of participating designers, including Ahluwalia, Ancuta Sarca, Asai, Chet Lo, Conner Ives, Di Petra, Feben, Harri, Helen Kirkum, Labrum London, Leo Carlton, Masha Popova, Nensi Dojaka, Paolo Carzana, Robyn Lynch, Roker, SS Daley, Saul Nash, Sinéad O’Dwyer, and Yuhan Wang.

Furthermore, LFW will collaborate with Ukrainian Fashion Week as part of the ‘Support Ukrainian Fashion’ initiative, presenting the works of three Ukrainian designers: Frolov, Kseniaschnaider, and Paskal.

Overall, the provisional schedule for London Fashion Week promises an exciting lineup of both established and emerging designers, showcasing the resilience and creativity of the fashion industry despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. Fashion enthusiasts and industry professionals alike are eagerly anticipating this event, which will exhibit the latest trends and innovations in British fashion.
