Project NY at UBM’s Men’s January Marketplace

Project NY is gearing up to make its debut this January as a part of UBM’s Men’s January Marketplace. This exciting event will shine a spotlight on the latest trends for Fall/Winter 2019-20, with a particular focus on the evolution of streetwear in today’s contemporary men’s fashion landscape.

Spanning over three days, Project NY will feature five distinct neighborhoods, each dedicated to showcasing a different aspect of menswear. The Tents will house high-end luxury brands, while The Foundry will offer a carefully curated selection of men’s apparel and grooming products. Project Sole will put a spotlight on footwear, Blue will feature premium denim brands, and N:OW, which is making its New York debut, will provide attendees with an immersive 360 experience hosted by culturally relevant brands.

Teaming up with the renowned style-forecasting company WGSN, the N:OW Stage at Project NY will host a series of seminars covering a variety of topics. These discussions will include deep dives into the evolution of streetwear and explore the idea that “buying in is the new selling out”. In response to the growing influence of streetwear in menswear, the final day of the program will be dedicated to discussions led by fashion experts on this trend.

Beyond delving into the world of streetwear, Project NY will also examine other emerging trends in menswear, such as the resurgence of prep style. The event will also feature unique experiences like Champagne Hour, video games, and a special display celebrating Barbour’s 125th Anniversary. Attendees will also have the chance to participate in a scavenger hunt hosted by Cool Hunting, a leading publication in design, culture, and technology.

Alongside Project NY, the luxury menswear trade fair MRKET will also be taking place, showcasing the best of British and Italian fashion. The event will take place from Sunday, January 20, through Tuesday, January 22, at the prestigious Jacob Javits Center in NYC. It promises to be an exciting and informative platform for exploring the future of menswear trends.
