Private Equity Firm Parabellum Investments Makes Inaugural Entry into Luxury Fashion Industry through Acquisition of Hervia

Private equity firm Parabellum Investments, led by Rami Cassis, has made its inaugural entry into the luxury fashion industry through the acquisition of Hervia, a well-known retailer acclaimed for its early recognition of fashion labels. The deal, whose specific financial terms were not disclosed, includes Hervia’s flagship store, Hervia Bazaar, situated in Manchester, as well as its thriving online store. Furthermore, the acquisition encompasses the management of the prominent Adidas Y-3 flagship store in Mayfair, London.

Hervia has a rich history of stocking avant-garde designers and was among the first retailers to feature brands such as Alexander McQueen, Helmut Lang, and Hussein Chalayan. Presently, it continues to offer a handpicked selection of premium fashion, featuring designers like Raf Simons, Maison Margiela, Rick Owens, and Yohji Yamamoto. Aligned with its commitment to supporting emerging talent, Hervia intends to expand its product offerings to include promising labels from the United Kingdom, France, and Italy. Furthermore, Hervia plans to explore new market segments, such as kidswear, and make further investments in its e-commerce operations.

Despite Parabellum Investments assuming ownership, Hervia’s founder, Oscar Pinto-Hervia, will remain as the CEO and retain a stake in the business. However, co-owner Richard Duncalf has decided to depart from the company. Rami Cassis brings a wealth of experience in operational efficiency and supply chain intelligence to the table. He aims to enhance the traceability of fashion products while utilizing his business expertise to drive organic growth and pursue potential acquisitions for Hervia. Cassis’s passion for the fashion industry leads him to believe that his investment will elevate the customer experience, enable expansion into new market segments, and further strengthen the already exceptional team at Hervia.

Oscar Pinto-Hervia is eagerly looking forward to the future of Hervia and the prospect of welcoming new brands and opening additional stores. He was impressed by Rami Cassis’s enthusiasm and shares his ambitious vision for the company. Pinto-Hervia acknowledges the importance of Cassis’s leadership skills and eagerly anticipates collaborating in the next phase of expansion.

The acquisition of Hervia by Parabellum Investments signifies a significant milestone for both entities. With Cassis’s expertise and deep passion for fashion, combined with Pinto-Hervia’s innovative approach to sourcing and nurturing emerging British designers, Hervia is well-positioned for sustained success and growth in the luxury fashion market.
