Prada Unveils Plan to Hire 400 New Employees for Italian Factories

Italian luxury brand Prada has recently unveiled an ambitious plan to hire 400 new employees for its factories in Italy. This significant recruitment drive is aimed at strengthening the brand’s production capacity and preserving its renowned artisanal know-how. At the center of this hiring process lies the Prada Group Academy, the brand’s prestigious training center.

In order to support its impressive double-digit growth, the Prada Group is making a substantial investment in its workforce. By the end of 2023, the brand plans to bring on board 400 talented individuals, with a specific focus on the central Italian regions of Umbria, Tuscany, and Marche, where its production facilities are concentrated.

When it comes to finding the right candidates, Prada relies on a robust HR strategy that includes professional platforms. However, the brand places particular emphasis on its renowned training center, the Prada Group Academy. Established in the early 2000s, this vocational school imparts the brand’s unique craftsmanship in leather goods, footwear, and ready-to-wear to aspiring artisans. According to the brand’s statement, more than 200 young people will be recruited through this channel.

During a recent statement, Massimo Vian, Prada’s Industrial Director, reiterated the brand’s commitment to investing in its supply chain. He stated, “The Prada Group continues to invest in its supply chain, as announced during our Capital Markets Day at the end of 2021. We aim to strengthen the industrial backbone of the group while respecting our long-time suppliers.” Vian also emphasized the significance of the Prada Group Academy, claiming that it will play an increasingly crucial role in preserving the brand’s know-how.

The primary objective behind these new hires is to grant the Prada Group greater autonomy and flexibility in its manufacturing capacity, allowing it to meet the ever-growing demand for luxury products. Prada assures that it already manages the quality control of raw materials, finished goods, and logistics internally, and aims to further enhance its control over production.

By expanding its workforce and investing in training, Prada is determined to ensure the preservation of its artisanal expertise and secure its position as a leading luxury brand. The brand’s commitment to nurturing young talent not only reflects its dedication to the future of the industry but also solidifies its place in the constantly evolving luxury market.
