Prada Embraces NFTs with ‘Timecapsule’ Concept

Italian fashion house Prada is embracing the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) with its latest “Timecapsule” concept. This move follows in the footsteps of other fashion brands like Gucci, Hublot, and Burberry, who have already ventured into the NFT space. With NFTs continuing to captivate consumers as symbols of digital creativity, Prada recognized the power of this trend and decided to offer a new 3.0 experience called “Timecapsule”.

“Timecapsule” has been a popular concept among Prada enthusiasts since 2019, with limited editions released for 24 hours each month on the brand’s website. Now, Prada has modernized this concept by combining it with NFTs. Starting from June 2nd, every first Thursday of the month, the “Timecapsule” garment will be accompanied by an NFT issued on the Ethereum blockchain and supported by Aura technology. Additionally, customers who have previously purchased “Timecapsule” items will receive an exclusive digital piece connected to their product.

The first drop of this new “Timecapsule” format will feature a shirt created in collaboration with artist Cassius Hirst, known for his work on the Prada America’s Cup basketball project. The shirt and its accompanying NFT will provide access to unique experiences and future drops.

In tandem with the introduction of NFTs, Prada also launched Prada Crypted, a new community server on the Discord platform. This initiative aims to bring together Prada’s community, fostering connections and discussions around fashion, art, cinema, and music.

Overall, Prada’s foray into NFTs and Discord reflects its understanding of the increasing significance of digital creativity in the fashion industry. By embracing these new technologies and platforms, Prada seeks to engage its customers in innovative ways and stay at the forefront of the evolving digital landscape.
