Philipp Plein Unveils Women’s Fragrance, Sunglass NFT Collaboration, and Skeleton Watch Model

Philipp Plein, the renowned fashion designer, recently introduced several exciting ventures to the world of fashion. At the TFWA Duty-Free and Travel Retail Global Summit in Cannes, Plein unveiled his first women’s fragrance, a groundbreaking sunglass collaboration with an NFT, and a new Skeleton watch model created in partnership with Timex. The event took place at Plein’s luxurious private residence, “La Jungle du Roi,” and was a lavish affair filled with music, champagne, and delectable food.

Plein, despite his extravagant brand and lifestyle, describes himself as a practical man. He emphasized the importance of these three projects for his Milan-based brand, highlighting the significance of expanding licensing ventures. Plein expressed his excitement for the upcoming hotel in Milan, which is one of the brand’s 12 licenses. Guests and press were treated to a tour of Plein’s stunning villa, which was adorned with stunning floral arrangements, neon lights, life-size artworks, and luxury cars. The atmosphere resembled a Miami-style pool party, complete with floating pool cabanas.

One of the standout features of the event was a giant replica of Plein’s new perfume, ‘Plein Fatale,’ which floated magically above water like a rocket ship erupting with flowers. This fragrance marks the brand’s first foray into women’s perfumes, adding to their existing collection of three men’s fragrances. Plein collaborated with master perfumer Alberto Morillas on ‘Plein Fatale,’ with the bottle design inspired by a champagne bottle to captivate women’s love for champagne. The fragrance will be available in three different varieties, each crafted to address different aspects of femininity.

In addition to the perfume, Plein also introduced a new sunglass style called The Crypto King$ Limited Edition. This collaboration with the De Rigo Group is the first-ever sunglass NFT collaboration. The new sunglass style was met with incredible popularity, selling out all 1,200 pairs within two days at the SILMO eyewear trade show.

Plein also demonstrated his commitment to cryptocurrency by showcasing his belief in its future. His luxury company was the first to accept cryptocurrency payments in-store and online in August 2021. Plein acknowledges the volatility of the market but remains confident in the future of crypto. He distinguishes between “abusers” and “users” of cryptocurrency, with his brand embracing the latter by accepting crypto in over 100 stores and achieving over 100 million euros in online sales this year.

Another highlight of the event was the unveiling of the new Skeleton watch model, inspired by Plein’s Skeleton sneaker collection. The watch features a captivating skull motif and incorporates cutting-edge technology. Plein and partner Timex have high expectations for the Skeleton model, projecting sales of 25 million euros.

The event was not just about product showcases. Plein treated his guests to a screening room where three films dedicated to each new product were shown. These films, shot in Paris, New York, and the metaverse, demonstrate Plein’s commitment to innovation and forward-thinking.

With his successful launch of the women’s fragrance, sunglass NFT collaboration, and Skeleton watch model, Plein’s future in the fashion industry looks extremely bright. His ability to captivate and surprise the fashion world solidifies his status as a true maverick. As Plein continues to push boundaries and explore new ventures, his legacy will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the world of fashion.
