Peris Costumes: The Premier Source for Film Industry Attire

Peris Costumes, a leading costume rental company located in Algete near Madrid, has established itself as the go-to source for authentic attire in the film industry. CEO Javier Toledo proudly showcases the company’s impressive collection, which includes a wide range of costumes and accessories, from suits of armor to period gowns, surrounded by mannequins dressed in costumes from various films and series.

Under Toledo’s leadership, Peris Costumes has undergone a significant transformation from a small family business founded in Valencia in 1856 to a global leader in costume rental. This success can be attributed in part to the rise of streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+, and HBO, which have spurred a higher demand for high-quality productions. Toledo recognizes the increasing popularity of series and credits the company’s ability to adapt to the changing market.

When Toledo took over, Peris Costumes had only a small team in Madrid. Now, the company boasts 250 employees and has offices and workshops in 15 major cities worldwide, including Paris, Berlin, Budapest, and Mexico City. This growth is evident in the substantial number of productions they are involved in. During the first half of the year alone, they participated in almost 600 productions, with a goal of surpassing 1,000 by the end of the year. The company collaborates on a diverse range of projects, including super-productions that require intricate period or fantasy costumes, according to Myriam Wais, the company’s marketing director.

Costume rental has become the preferred choice for many productions due to the time and cost savings involved. Peris Costumes stands out from its competitors by offering a vast selection of costumes that have been worn and aged over time, creating an authentic look. To expand their inventory, the company has acquired millions of clothing items and accessories from major studios like Warner Bros. They also have their own in-house collections, carefully curated by their costume designers. With over 10 million articles of clothing and accessories, Peris Costumes proudly claims to have the largest wardrobe in the world.

Furthermore, the company is committed to sustainability and does not discard damaged items. Instead, they have a dedicated area called “The Walking Dead,” where damaged costumes and accessories are stored and creatively repurposed. The demand for their services remains high, leading the company to embrace digital technology. Their new service, Peris Digital, allows production companies to create 3D images of costumes using high-resolution cameras. This virtual wardrobe has even caught the attention of video game developers.

Peris Costumes has undeniably made a name for itself as the premier source for outfitting filmmakers worldwide. With their extensive collection and commitment to innovation, they continue to play a vital role in bringing costumes to life on the big screen.
