Parisian Label Sézane Expands into UK Market

Parisian label Sézane is garnering attention in the fashion world with its recent expansion into the UK market, a move that has been eagerly awaited by fashion enthusiasts. Following the successful launch of its first ‘Appartement’ flat/store in London’s trendy Notting Hill last September, Sézane has further solidified its presence in the UK by opening a concession at the renowned Selfridges on Oxford Street.

The new 90-square-metre retail corner at Selfridges showcases Sézane’s permanent ready-to-wear and accessories collections, offering shoppers a chance to immerse themselves in the brand’s signature effortlessly chic aesthetic. This expansion follows the lauded release of Sézane’s capsule collection Grand Je(u) in February, which captivated audiences with its focus on ceremonial and evening wear, as well as the introduction of an exquisite jewellery line.

A particularly exciting development from Sézane is the forthcoming launch of a bio cotton sweatshirt under the charity label Demain. Proceeds from the sales of these sweatshirts will be donated to the UN Women, reflecting Sézane’s dedication to social responsibility and giving back to the community.

Launched in 2013 by Corentin Petit, Morgane Sezalory, and Thibault Lougnon, Sézane has rapidly risen to prominence in the fashion industry. Following an investment from General Atlantic in June, Sézane has been strategically expanding its presence in key markets worldwide.

From its beginnings as an online-only retailer, Sézane has branched out to establish brick-and-mortar stores, known as ‘appartements,’ in prime locations such as Paris, Aix-en-Provence, New York, and now London. Aside from the concession at Selfridges, Sézane also boasts a retail corner at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche in Paris, providing customers with a unique shopping experience that includes ‘conciergeries’ for online pickups, the Demain charity shop, and a dedicated store for the menswear brand Octobre Editions.

With plans to unveil a new ‘appartement’ in Paris in the autumn of 2019, Sézane remains a captivating force in the fashion sphere, alluring consumers with its timeless style and philanthropic endeavors. Its presence in esteemed retailers like Selfridges cements Sézane’s reputation as a go-to brand for contemporary, sophisticated individuals seeking refined yet approachable fashion.
