Paris Menswear Day Three featured three standout brands – Rains, Rick Owens, and Uniforme – each making their mark in their own unique way.

Rains, known for its functional outerwear, took a bold step by incorporating acid colors and experimenting with proportions and silhouettes. The collection drew inspiration from the enchanting colors of the northern lights, with lime and pink being the standout choices. Tanne Vinter, Rains’ design director, showcased a collection of complete uniform looks that exuded winter glamour and funky futurism. Rick Owens, renowned for his avant-garde shows, once again pushed boundaries with a mesmerizing strobe show. The audience at the Palais de Tokyo was captivated by the futuristic superhero theme, with models marching alongside flashing lights and wearing Aztec party warrior-inspired outfits. The collection featured double fluorescent bulbs, bulbous scarves reminiscent of Brancusi’s sculptures, and leather medieval minimalist knight cloaks. Unique leather and pony-skin headgear with built-in facemasks added an extra touch of intrigue.

Uniforme made sustainability the focus of its collection, showcasing highly covetable knits and utilitarian cool in a video set in a wooden pavilion near Fontainebleau. The video depicted the cast interacting with rocks and ancient forests, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to nature. Uniforme takes a sustainable approach by collaborating directly with artisans and small factories, reducing waste by not producing excessive prototypes. The brand aims to create an evolving wardrobe rather than follow trends, setting a new standard in the industry. Noteworthy pieces from the collection included double-collar cable sweaters, architectural pullovers, and smart flannel outer-shirts made from deadstock materials.
