Paris Fashion Week Showcases Isabel Marant, Leonard, Moynat, and Baccarat

Paris, the City of Light, was experiencing rainy weather from the Bay of Biscay, but that didn’t dampen the spirits at Isabel Marant, Leonard, Moynat, and Baccarat. These four brands showcased their distinctive style and vision, leaving a lasting impression on the fashion industry.

Starting with Isabel Marant, the designer known for her effortless and cool designs, her latest collection radiates a cheerful and carefree vibe, perfect for a day at the beach. Inspired by sporty 90s-style photographs by Swiss photographer Hans Feurer, Marant flawlessly combines athleticism and sexiness in her collection. Blouses and pants with parachute shapes, adorned with Japanese and graffiti prints, gracefully floated off the models, enhancing their beauty. Paired with frilly bra tops, bustiers, or Ladakh mini gilets, Marant’s collection made a bold and stylish statement.

Moving on to Moynat, a prestigious brand experiencing a revival under the creative direction of Nicholas Knightly. Knightly introduced his debut bag, named Flori after his horse, which showcases the brand’s elegant and precise style. The Flori bag is a true work of art, made with the house’s Art Deco multi-“M” toile and featuring precision steel buckles. What distinguishes Moynat is their sophisticated customization options, with an in-house artist who can paint clients’ initials and stripes of their choice on their bags. This customization tradition harks back to a time when liners docked at ports, with each trunk being distinguished by a bright stripe and decoration. As Knightly continues to breathe new life into the brand, exciting prospects lie ahead, including the potential for a Moynat wheelie in the future.

Leonard, known for its fascination with Egypt, drew inspiration from the land of pharaohs for their latest collection. Designer Georg Lux incorporated Coptic Egyptian prints, jagged friezes, and desert flowers into V-neck poolside dresses, tops, and pants. Lux’s use of bold prints, vibrant colors, and the new interlocked “L” monogram print resulted in a fun and lively collection. Leonard also collaborated with Baccarat to create crystal glasses inspired by their iconic Harcourt glass. This collaboration brought together a talented group of creators, each adding their unique touch to the Harcourt glass, resulting in a breathtaking display of artistry and innovation.

Speaking of Baccarat, the renowned glassware brand showcased its resilience and creativity through a collaborative project featuring 11 young and talented designers. These designers reimagined the Harcourt glass, infusing it with their distinct styles and visions. From the playful and vibrant Harcourt Queer goblet by Victor Weinsanto to the beautifully illustrated Harcourt Family by Charles de Vilmorin, each piece was a testament to the designers’ creativity and Baccarat’s timeless elegance. This collaboration exemplifies Baccarat’s commitment to pushing boundaries and embracing innovation.

Paris continues to be a hub of creativity and inspiration, with brands like Isabel Marant, Leonard, Moynat, and Baccarat leading the way with their unique perspectives and unwavering dedication to their craftsmanship. Whether it’s through the realm of fashion or glassware, these brands are making a mark and captivating audiences worldwide.
