Paris Fashion Week Men’s: Egonlab, Taakk, and Etudes Showcase Captivating Collections

Paris Fashion Week Men’s started off with a bang, as Egonlab, Taakk, and Etudes showcased their captivating collections. Each brand presented their unique vision for Spring/Summer 2023 menswear in various locations throughout Paris.

Egonlab’s collection was bold and extravagant. The Egonlab man exuded confidence as he strutted down the runway in thigh-high boots and platform soles. He wore a long white coat with leather knickers peeking out and a sheer top. Sequinned tops and vibrantly colored suits took center stage, with combinations like ochre and electric blue, and emerald green paired with a fuchsia coat. The collection also included lace trousers, distressed stone-washed jeans, and impeccably tailored jackets. Houndstooth suits paired with tasselled moccasins added a touch of sophistication, while quirky accessories like oversized bead jewelry and neck-wrapped leather belts added unexpected elements. Not to mention the stylish ear clip/cigarette holder that brought a touch of edginess.

On the other hand, Taakk took a more minimalistic yet modern approach. The collection showcased garments made from sophisticated materials with interesting textures, resulting in unexpected combinations. A satin jacket seamlessly transformed into an almost sheer shirt, while a classic double-breasted jacket morphed into a lightweight striped cotton shirt. Designer Takuya Moriyama exhibited his ability to transform materials like a magician, incorporating innovative details and treatments. Jacquard fabric distressed patches and cleverly frayed shorts and shirts created a shaggy effect. The vibrant colors and loose-fitting trousers added a lively touch to the collection.

Etudes Studio closed out the first day of Paris Fashion Week Men’s with a minimalist wardrobe inspired by workwear essentials. The brand’s trio, Aurélien Arbet, Jérémie Égry, and José Lamali, unveiled a new lozenge-shaped logo, symbolizing a fresh chapter for the brand. The collection featured monochrome looks, including linen ensembles, jacket-and-shorts sets, ripped jeans, canvas jumpsuits, and overcoats. The show commenced with light-colored hues, portraying a blank page ready to be filled with creative possibilities.

Overall, the opening day of Paris Fashion Week Men’s set high expectations for the upcoming shows. Egonlab, Taakk, and Etudes showcased their ability to captivate audiences with their unique and innovative collections. Fashion enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the rest of the event to discover what other exciting designs and trends will grace the runways of Paris.
