Paris Fashion Week Men: A Grand Affair with Louis Vuitton and Emerging Designers

The upcoming Paris Fashion Week Men is set to be a grand affair, with a total of 42 runway shows lined up for fashion enthusiasts. Headlining the event is none other than luxury brand Louis Vuitton, which will be unveiling its first-ever menswear collection under the new creative direction of Pharrell Williams. This highly anticipated moment has led the brand to secure the opening slot of the fashion week on June 20, marking a significant milestone for Louis Vuitton and the LVMH group.

In addition to Louis Vuitton, there will be a total of 80 labels participating in the June session of Paris Fashion Week Men. These labels will showcase their Spring/Summer 2024 collections through 38 presentations and 42 runway shows. While this is a slight decrease in the number of shows compared to the previous January session, which featured 47 runway shows, the lineup promises to be just as impressive.

One standout addition to the Paris menswear calendar is the debut of Koché. Designer Christelle Kocher has decided to switch to the menswear calendar to gain more visibility and take advantage of larger buyers’ budgets. Koché will be presenting its first-ever menswear collection on June 23, adding excitement to the already star-studded fashion week.

Among the leading luxury houses participating in Paris Fashion Week Men are Dior, Hermès, Givenchy, Loewe, and Kenzo. Joining them are other prominent labels like AMI, Marine Serre, and Lemaire, as well as emerging names like Botter, Hed Mayner, Grace Wales Bonner, Bluemarble, and EgonLab. The diverse range of designers ensures a vibrant and dynamic showcase of men’s fashion.

However, despite the extensive lineup, there will also be eight notable absences from the Parisian event. Labels such as Saint Laurent, Maison Margiela, Casablanca, Bianca Saunders, Sankuanz, Namacheko, and Bode will not be participating. Nevertheless, Paris remains an attractive destination for emerging designers, as demonstrated by the inclusion of French designer Burc Akyol, a finalist for the prestigious LVMH Prize, who will be showcasing his debut show on June 20.

Apart from the runway shows, Paris Fashion Week Men will also witness the introduction of several new names presenting their collections. These include 4SDesigns by El Salvador-born designer Angelo Urrutia, Bed J.W. Ford by Japanese designer Shinpei Yamagishi, Logos Space Programme by Nigerian designer Adeju Thompson (who won the 2023 Woolmark Prize), and C.R.E.O.L.E by Vincent Frédéric-Colombo. These collections will be presented within the Sphère showroom, supported by the French Fashion and Haute Couture federation and public body DEFI, which aims to showcase the work of promising young Parisian designers. The Sphère showroom will also feature other selected labels such as Arturo Obegero, Christoph Rumpf, Jeanne Friot, Ponder.er, and Valette Studio.

Overall, the upcoming Paris Fashion Week Men promises to be an exciting event that brings together established luxury brands, emerging designers, and a wide range of innovative collections. With Louis Vuitton in the spotlight and the much-anticipated debut collection from Pharrell Williams, fashion enthusiasts around the world are eagerly awaiting the festivities.
