Onward Luxury Group (OLG) is currently undergoing a significant transformation process after the departure of former CEO Franco Penè. The luxury subsidiary of the Japanese group has appointed Takehiro Shiraishi to lead Onward Italy, the group’s European holding company, in an effort to steer the company towards new horizons. Furthermore, as part of the reorganization, Fabio Ducci has been announced as the new head of the Jil Sander division within OLG.
Ducci, who has been an integral part of OLG since 2015 overseeing the footwear division, has now taken on the additional responsibility of managing the ready-to-wear division. His primary objective is to rejuvenate OLG into a talent incubator once more by introducing fresh private labels to the market. Recently, OLG unveiled new shoe brands Carlotha Ray and F_WD, with numerous other projects in development. Additionally, they are currently in the process of launching a significant new footwear brand that is sure to turn heads.
In October 2018, Axel Keller assumed the role of head of Jil Sander, following in the footsteps of Alessandra Bettari. Bettari, in turn, transitioned into the role of vice president of OLG. The manufacturing process for Jil Sander has been isolated from the group’s other licensees, with a dedicated production facility now located in Florence. On the other hand, the collections for the group’s other labels are managed at a separate facility in Bergamo.
With these recent shifts within the company, OLG is aiming to reestablish itself as a key player in the luxury fashion market by focusing on young talent and the introduction of new, innovative brands. The group has strategically set up pop-up stores in Milan and Paris to showcase their latest offerings and generate excitement around their expanding portfolio.
