Off-White, the renowned fashion brand led by Virgil Abloh, has taken its creativity beyond the runway with the release of a unique video game called OFFKAT. Developed in collaboration with American graffiti artist Katsu, OFFKAT allows players to fight against corruption in OFFKAT City by creating graffiti on its walls.
The game presents players with a choice between two characters – Virgil Abloh himself and Katsu – both represented digitally. The chosen character then sets out on a mission to denounce the corrupt city mayor through powerful street art. This concept aligns perfectly with Off-White’s streetwear storytelling, as evident from the game’s description as “The real street” on the Google Play Store application page. OFFKAT is available to play on both the Google Play Store and the App Store.
This collaboration between Off-White and Katsu is part of the “OFFKAT Fashion Art Project”, an innovative initiative that explores the intersection of fashion, art, and gaming. The project not only showcases the brand’s commitment to artistic expression but also goes beyond traditional fashion boundaries.
To further emphasize the connection between street art and fashion, the collaboration continues with a collection recently presented in Beijing. Virgil Abloh praised Katsu’s ability to blend subversive tradition with a radical future, stating that it perfectly complements his own philosophy at Off-White. The collection, including clothing and accessories, is now available for purchase online and in selected stores.
As OFFKAT highlights the evolving landscape of fashion by incorporating gaming elements and collaborating with prominent artists, it showcases Off-White’s constant drive to push boundaries and engage with its audience in innovative ways.
