Off-White and Bottega Veneta Lead in Fashion Industry

Off-White and Bottega Veneta remain at the forefront of the fashion industry, as evidenced by their strong performance in the latest edition of The Lyst Index. The report for the fourth quarter showcases Off-White once again claiming the title of the “hottest brand on the planet,” driven by the high demand for its signature T-shirts, hoodies, sneakers, and accessories. In particular, searches for Off-White hoodies saw a remarkable 90% increase in the quarter, with the Waterfall design landing on the ninth spot on the hottest men’s products list.

On the flip side, Bottega Veneta saw a rise, moving up two places to secure the 14th position in the ranking with a 32% increase in searches. The mini version of The Pouch leather clutch proved to be a standout product for the brand, earning the fifth spot in the women’s hottest products list during the period.

The Lyst Index, which draws data from the online shopping behavior of over 9 million shoppers each month and incorporates Google search data and social media metrics, also revealed some notable shifts in the rankings. Canada Goose made a significant leap, climbing 14 spots to enter the hottest brands ranking for the first time, while Dr. Martens saw a boost with its Farylle boots surging by 151% in the quarter.

Despite the positive movements, some brands experienced decreases in rankings. Vetements, for instance, fell five spots to claim the 15th position. The top 20 hottest brands list features the likes of Gucci, Balenciaga, Moncler, Versace, Fendi, Prada, Valentino, Saint Laurent, and Burberry.

Branded items continue to be favored by consumers, with the Gucci logo belt maintaining its reign as the world’s hottest fashion product. The demand for insulated outerwear and durable footwear also stood out as significant drivers in the quarter, with influencers playing a crucial role in popularizing products like Prada’s Monolith boots and Alexander McQueen exaggerated-sole sneakers.

The rise of sustainable fashion was another notable trend in the report, with Arket’s down puffer coat and Moncler’s Maya jacket making waves in the hottest products lists. Barbour made its debut in The Lyst Index with its Chelsea Sportsquilt jacket earning a spot on the hottest men’s products list.

Overall, the Q4 Lyst Index report underscores the enduring dominance of Off-White and Bottega Veneta, with tough boots and cosy jackets emerging as key trends in the fashion industry.
