Nina Ricci: Farewell to General Manager Charlotte Tasset

Nina Ricci, the renowned fashion and fragrance brand, has recently bid farewell to its general manager, Charlotte Tasset. Tasset had been in her position since 2018, overseeing the operations of the iconic couture house that was established in Paris back in 1932 and is currently owned by Spain’s Puig group. Although the specific reasons for Tasset’s departure remain undisclosed, her next career move remains uncertain at this time.

During her time at Nina Ricci, Tasset successfully breathed new life into the brand, even amidst the challenges posed by the global Covid-19 pandemic. One of her notable accomplishments was the strategic appointment of Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh as the brand’s creative directors in 2018. Although relatively unknown at the time, the Dutch design duo had gained recognition for their menswear brand Botter by winning the prestigious Hyères Festival Grand Prize. Under their guidance, Nina Ricci experienced a revival, with their vibrant and contemporary collections infusing a fresh energy into the label. Additionally, they skillfully modernized the brand’s iconic pieces, such as the timeless cloche hat, making them relevant and appealing to the modern consumer.

Adapting to the circumstances brought about by the pandemic, Botter and Herrebrugh made the decision to present their collections through online platforms. The upcoming Spring/Summer 2022 collection will be virtually showcased on October 1, at 2:30 PM. This digital format has proven to be successful for the brand, allowing them to reach a broader audience while adhering to safety protocols.

Tasset also played a crucial role in repositioning Nina Ricci as a more accessible luxury brand, with a strong emphasis on digital sales. As part of this strategy, the brand’s flagship store on Paris’ esteemed Avenue Montaigne was closed. Prior to joining Nina Ricci, Tasset had accumulated nine years of experience at Printemps, where she oversaw various departments, including womenswear, beauty, lingerie, and kids. During her time at the department store, she played a key role in implementing a repositioning strategy to cater to a clientele with a focus on luxury. Before that, Tasset had worked as a consultant at Arthur Andersen and Capgemini Consulting, and held important positions at Gap and Sephora.

While Charlotte Tasset’s departure marks the end of an era for Nina Ricci, her contributions have undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the brand’s rejuvenation. With Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh steering the creative direction, Nina Ricci has entered the 21st century with fresh and contemporary designs that resonate with consumers. As the brand continues to evolve and adapt, it will be intriguing to witness how Nina Ricci thrives in the fashion industry under new leadership.
