Nicola Glass: Kate Spade’s New Creative Director Makes a Splash

Nicola Glass is making a splash as the new creative director for Kate Spade, starting off her tenure with a bang by collaborating with renowned photographer Tim Walker for the brand’s Spring 2019 campaign. The campaign, set against the stunning backdrop of the Floating Farmhouse in Eldred, New York, features rising star actresses Julia Garner, Sadie Sink, and Kiki Layne styled by the talented Sara Moonves.

Glass’ debut collection for Kate Spade is a fresh and modern interpretation of the brand’s timeless style, incorporating updated versions of the iconic spade symbol, bold and vibrant colors, and eye-catching patterns. The collection includes a mix of 70s and 40s-inspired silhouettes, as well as luxurious fabrics showcased in the brand’s signature handbags.

The campaign, captured by Tim Walker, serves as a visual representation of Glass’ creative vision for Kate Spade, setting the tone for future collections under her leadership. The actresses featured in the campaign will serve as the faces of all Kate Spade New York campaigns throughout 2019, embodying the essence of the brand’s new direction.

As a long-time collaborator with Kate Spade, Tim Walker’s return to shoot all of this year’s campaigns adds a sense of continuity and familiarity to the brand’s visual identity. The Spring 2019 campaign debut is particularly significant as Kate Spade gears up for its second major show following the passing of its founders, Kate and Andy Spade.

Under the ownership of Tapestry, Inc., Kate Spade is poised to embrace its heritage while embracing forward momentum under Nicola Glass’ leadership. The Spring 2019 campaign serves as a testament to the brand’s dedication to innovation and evolution in the ever-changing world of fashion.
