Nicola Brandolese Leaves Net-A-Porter Amid Restructuring Effort

Nicola Brandolese, who held the role of managing director at online luxury retailer Net-A-Porter for just over a year, has officially left the company. His departure is part of a larger restructuring effort at Net-A-Porter, which is owned by Richemont. Brandolese, a seasoned executive in the luxury industry, will be stepping down at an undisclosed date.

When Brandolese joined Net-A-Porter in September of the previous year, he brought a vast amount of knowledge and experience in the luxury sector. His responsibilities included overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company’s main web store and spearheading its expansion on a global scale. Additionally, he played a key role in managing relationships with luxury brands and shaping the company’s commercial strategy. Brandolese reported directly to Alison Loehnis, the president of Richemont’s luxury division.

Despite Brandolese’s departure, Alison Loehnis remains at the helm of Net-A-Porter. Brandolese’s vision for the company may have been impacted by the unexpected challenges posed by the global pandemic. Although online retailers were able to continue operating during the UK lockdown in March, Net-A-Porter did temporarily suspend its operations to prioritize the safety of its employees and customers.

Before joining Net-A-Porter, Brandolese served as the CEO of renowned footwear brand Giuseppe Zanotti. He also held prominent roles at Luxottica as Head of Retail and worked with the esteemed fashion house Fendi. Brandolese’s exit signifies a significant leadership change at the luxury e-commerce platform, as the company adapts its operations to navigate evolving market conditions.
