New York Men’s Day Returns to In-Person Shows

New York Men’s Day, the bi-annual event that showcases emerging talent in menswear, is making a much-anticipated return to in-person shows this September. As part of the New York Fashion Week schedule, the event will feature ten up-and-coming menswear brands in a group presentation format over two-hour periods. The showcase will be held on September 8 at Canoe Studios in the Starrett-Lehigh building, with five designers debuting in the morning and five in the late afternoon.

The lineup for this edition of New York Men’s Day boasts a mix of familiar and fresh faces. Eight returning designers, including A.Potts, Carter Young, and Chelsea Grays, will be joined by two new talents, Fried Rice and KoH T. Also participating are the brands Onyrmrk, Stan, Teddy Vonranson, The Stolen Garment, and William Frederick. Each designer will be unveiling their collections for spring 2022, featuring men’s wear or genderless clothing.

This announcement marks a significant milestone for New York Men’s Day. The last showcase took place virtually on February 15, 2020, in response to the pandemic. Previously, the men’s shows spanned three days before transitioning into the women’s shows during New York Fashion Week.

In addition to New York Men’s Day, the Fifth Avenue Association is also preparing to host NYFW runway shows and events at an exciting new venue. The three-story location at 608 Fifth Avenue will be transformed into a runway and presentation space, welcoming brands and designers from September 8-12.

The return of in-person shows is an encouraging development for the fashion industry. It demonstrates the industry’s resilience and ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Designers and fashion enthusiasts alike can eagerly anticipate the return of New York Men’s Day and NYFW, as these events continue to celebrate and elevate the future of menswear.
