Net-A-Porter Unveils SS19 Trends

Net-A-Porter, the leading online luxury retailer, has just unveiled the key trends that will shape the fashion landscape for the upcoming Spring/Summer 2019 season. According to Elizabeth von der Goltz, the Global Buying Director at Net-A-Porter, the focus is on exclusivity, wear-now fashion, ‘It’ accessories, and the influence of social media giant Instagram.

Von der Goltz highlighted the shift towards a ‘Buy Now, Wear Now’ approach, where customers seek instant gratification from their purchases. Gone are the days of buying months in advance, as the lines between seasons continue to blur. The Resort season, traditionally associated with vacation wear, now sees a surge in sales of coats, knits, jackets, and boots. In response to this changing consumer behavior, Net-A-Porter has introduced 119 new brands for SS19, catering to the demand for fresh talent and innovation.

The e-tailer is also capitalizing on exclusive capsule collections, with 46 party season capsules created to fill market gaps. These unique offerings set Net-A-Porter apart, driving sales and elevating the shopping experience. In the accessories department, the focus is on cult items, Instagram trends, and emerging labels. Whether it’s Loewe’s coveted basket bags, By Far’s trendy sandals, or the latest Chloé bag, Net-A-Porter’s curated selection is poised to make waves on social media.

Von der Goltz emphasized the pivotal role of Instagram and other social platforms in shaping the company’s strategy. Keeping a keen eye on influencers and up-and-coming designers, Net-A-Porter remains at the forefront of the online luxury retail industry. By staying ahead of the curve and embracing new trends, the e-tailer is staying true to its reputation as a fashion powerhouse.
