Mytheresa Expands Partnership with Vestiaire Collective into U.S. Market

Luxury e-commerce platform Mytheresa is expanding its partnership with Vestiaire Collective, a global luxury fashion resale destination, into the U.S. market. The collaboration, which was first launched in June 2021, aims to provide a unique resale service for Mytheresa’s high-end luxury customers. Following the success of the service in Europe, Mytheresa hopes to encourage more customers in North America to embrace circular fashion.

Mytheresa is renowned for its carefully curated selection of over 200 luxury brands, including iconic names such as Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Gucci, and Prada. Recently, the platform expanded its offerings to include home décor and lifestyle products with the introduction of the “Life” category.

Michael Kliger, CEO of Mytheresa, is thrilled about bringing this innovative partnership with Vestiaire Collective to the U.S. market. He emphasizes that the resale service not only benefits customers by giving their designer pieces a second life but also aligns with the company’s commitment to promoting circularity within the fashion industry.

To participate in the resale service, Mytheresa’s top customers in the U.S. can access a dedicated landing page where they provide details about their pre-loved items. They will then receive a price quote for the item. Once the item arrives at Vestiaire Collective’s U.S. authentication center, it undergoes thorough quality and authentication checks. After verification, customers will receive immediate payment in the form of Mytheresa store credit.

Maximilian Bittner, CEO of Vestiaire Collective, is excited about expanding the partnership with Mytheresa to the United States. He believes that U.S. customers will appreciate the trustworthy authentication service and the simplicity of the platform, which has already found success in Europe. Bittner hopes that by introducing more luxury consumers to resale, they can contribute to building a more sustainable and inclusive fashion industry.

Vestiaire Collective, founded in Paris in 2009, currently offers an extensive inventory of three million items. With offices in Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Seoul, and Singapore, as well as a tech hub in Berlin, the brand is well-equipped to serve customers worldwide.
