Mulberry announces new board appointment

Mulberry, the renowned luxury bags and accessories brand, has recently made an exciting announcement regarding its board of directors. Leslie Serrero, a highly experienced figure in luxury brand leadership, will be joining the board as an additional Independent Non-Executive Director. This appointment will come into effect immediately following the company’s Annual General Meeting on September 7th. Alongside her role as a non-executive director, Serrero will also serve on the board’s Audit Committee.

Serrero brings a wealth of valuable experience to the luxury sector, having most recently held the position of International Managing Director at Casa Kosmos Brands, a US luxury group, since October 2022. Prior to this, she held senior executive roles at prestigious companies such as Fendi France, Christian Dior Couture, and Lacoste SA. Additionally, Serrero spent six years as a project leader at Boston Consulting Group, where she provided expert advice to retail, consumer, and fashion companies on transformation and growth strategies.

Given her impressive background, Serrero is a perfect fit for Mulberry. Chairman Chris Roberts expressed his satisfaction with her appointment, stating, “After an extensive independent search, we are thrilled that Leslie has agreed to join our board. Her strategic mindset and analytical approach bring a wealth of knowledge on digital transformation, omnichannel strategies, and customer engagement in the luxury sector.”

Serrero herself is enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with Mulberry. She eagerly stated, “Mulberry has a distinctive brand identity, a compelling strategy, and a leading position in sustainability. I am excited to collaborate with the team and contribute my experience in facilitating growth strategies and my deep knowledge of the luxury goods industry.”

This appointment comes at a crucial time for Mulberry as the brand continues to navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by the digital age. The addition of Serrero to the board will undoubtedly strengthen the brand’s strategic vision and further enhance its position in the luxury market.
