Mulberry Announces Collaboration with Richard Malone for 50th Anniversary

Mulberry has announced an exciting collaboration with designer Richard Malone to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The British fashion brand will release a limited-edition collection as part of its Mulberry Editions series. The collaboration will launch digitally on Sunday, September 19, and will be available in stores worldwide on Monday, coinciding with the start of London Fashion Week.

The Mulberry x Richard Malone collection highlights Malone’s unique interpretation of Mulberry’s iconic Bayswater and Darley bags. Taking inspiration from Mulberry’s archives, Malone has deconstructed the Bayswater bag and incorporated interior design elements, including pockets, piping, and serial numbered fobs, into the exterior of the bags. The collection includes a Bayswater bag, a Mini Bayswater bag, a Small Darley bag, and two new styles – The Triangle Bayswater and Barrel Bag. Accessories such as a Coin Pouch and Key Fob complete the collection.

What sets this collaboration apart is the shared commitment to British craftsmanship and sustainability by both Mulberry and Richard Malone. The bags are made from an environmentally friendly version of Mulberry’s signature scotchgrain material, a long-standing feature of the brand. This eco-friendly material is created using bio-synthetic materials that repurpose inedible cereal waste, resulting in a durable and lightweight material that closely resembles the look and feel of leather.

To complement the launch of the collection, Mulberry has also unveiled a campaign featuring some of Richard Malone’s closest creative collaborators. The campaign provides a glimpse into the individuals who inspire and influence Malone’s work. Notable figures involved in the campaign include Rosh Mahtani, the founder of Alighieri Jewellery; Ronan Mckenzie, a photographer; Lulu Kennedy, the founder of Fashion East; and Nell Kalonji, a stylist.

The Mulberry x Richard Malone collaboration reflects the brand’s dedication to honoring its 50-year legacy through partnerships with talented designers and creative minds. By combining innovation, sustainability, and British craftsmanship, Mulberry solidifies its position as a leading luxury fashion brand. Fashion enthusiasts can eagerly anticipate the opportunity to experience the collection firsthand, both digitally and in-store, during London Fashion Week.
