Montblanc Expands into Technology with Headphones and Smartwatches

Montblanc, the renowned luxury brand famous for its exquisite writing instruments, is expanding its presence in the technology industry. After successfully venturing into the tech world with its Augmented Paper connected pen, the German company is now introducing its new line of headphones and smartwatches.

The first product in Montblanc’s technology expansion is the MB 01 headphones. These wireless headphones are specifically designed for frequent travelers and come equipped with active noise cancellation. They are available in three elegant colors: black leather with chrome-finished metal, brown leather with gold-finished metal, and light gray leather with polished metal finishes. Featuring larger ear cups for optimum comfort, Zaim Kamal, Montblanc’s Director of Creative, emphasizes the company’s dedication to creating standout accessories for intrepid travelers.

Each pair of MB 01 headphones comes with a cloth case, USB-C cable, audio jack cable, and an airplane adapter. Montblanc CEO, Nicolas Baretzki, explains that the company’s goal was to create headphones that seamlessly blend cutting-edge technology, sophisticated design, and comfort. These headphones have a battery life of 20 hours and are Bluetooth 5.0 compatible. They were developed with the expertise of audio specialist Alex Rosson to deliver the distinct “Montblanc signature sound” and also feature integrated Google Assistant.

In addition to the headphones, Montblanc has also unveiled its latest smartwatch offering, the Summit 2+. As the successor to the Summit 2, this smartwatch runs on Wear OS and now includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chip for eSIM compatibility. With a 1.28-inch OLED screen and a 43.5mm case covered with curved sapphire glass, the Summit 2+ boasts a sleek and stylish design. The upgraded 440mAh battery provides a longer battery life of 3 to 5 days, compared to the previous version’s 340mAh.

Montblanc’s Summit 2+ smartwatch will first be available through Orange, the first European operator to launch the product in the second quarter of 2020. The price for the Summit 2+ is set at 1,170 euros. With these new additions to its technology lineup, Montblanc aims to diversify its product range and cater to consumers who appreciate a perfect blend of style and functionality.
