Monnier Paris, a fashion platform, has partnered with the Decentraland metaverse and the brand Republiqe to launch a competition that merges the virtual and real worlds. Called The Fashion Prize for Web3 Creators, this initiative aims to showcase the talents of virtual fashion designers by providing them with a platform to materialize their creations and gain visibility. The competition aims to shed light on the creativity of the Web3 community, which includes virtual fashion, NFTs, skins, and video games. These creators often have limited opportunities to showcase their work in the real world, making this collaboration with Decentraland and Republiqe crucial in offering them a space to share and distribute their artwork.
Diaa Elyaacoubi, the CEO of Monnier Paris, expresses enthusiasm about providing recognition and a wider audience for these creators. The competition invites participants to imagine a bag using a material suitable for 3D printing as the only constraint. A jury consisting of individuals from the gaming, art, crypto, luxury, and fashion industries will identify the five finalists by the end of June. These selected accessories will then be produced and sold on Monnier Paris’ website as a part of a limited-edition capsule collection released through a drop.
In late September, a winner will be chosen through a public vote among the finalists. The winner will receive mentorship from the competition stakeholders and collaborate with the British brand Republiqe to create a virtual fashion collection, which will also be available for purchase at Monnier Paris. Applications for the competition are now open on the dedicated page, with a limit of 200 submissions. This competition not only provides recognition to virtual fashion designers but also creates opportunities for them to further their careers and showcase their creativity to a larger audience.
