Moncler Genius unveils next collection at London Fashion Week

Moncler Genius, the collaborative project by luxury brand Moncler, is gearing up to unveil its next collection at London Fashion Week in February. This highly-anticipated event will mark a return to live showcases, although the exact venue and time are yet to be announced. Keeping the suspense alive, Moncler has also kept the collaborators for the AW23 collection a secret for now.

The decision to move the show to London was driven by Moncler’s recognition of the city’s status as a global hub for diversity and creativity. Chairman and CEO Remo Ruffini explained that London was a natural choice for the next evolution of Moncler Genius, which he had previously hinted could expand beyond fashion to encompass art, music, movies, and sports. This suggests that the upcoming collection may offer unexpected surprises in terms of the creative elements it includes.

Moncler Genius was introduced in 2018 as a strategic move by Ruffini after the discontinuation of Gamme Rouge, Moncler’s high-end fashion label designed by Giambattista Valli. The project injected new life into the brand by nurturing constant creative interest through collaborations with renowned designers. Collaborators in the past have included the likes of Pierpaolo Piccioli of Valentino, Rick Owens, and Francesco Ragazzi of Palm Angels, all known for their groundbreaking and breathtaking designs. The label has also worked with several UK-based designers, including Jonathan Anderson of JW Anderson, Simone Rocha, Richard Quinn, and Craig Green.

With the announcement of the London Fashion Week showcase, Moncler Genius is making a strong comeback after having focused more on its core labels, namely Moncler, Grenoble, and Stone Island, in recent seasons. The upcoming collection is expected to provide a platform for a new roster of creative minds from various disciplines and spaces to showcase their unique interpretations of the Moncler world. London Fashion Week is set to become the epicenter of the convergence of fashion, art, music, and more.
