Moncler Demonstrates Robust Growth in 2018

Moncler, the renowned Italian luxury outerwear brand, has demonstrated robust growth in 2018 with a remarkable 19 percent increase in sales. This success can be attributed to the brand’s strategic shift towards faster-paced collections, which not only drove sales upwards but also enhanced profitability.

Achieving a revenue of 1.42 billion euros in 2018, Moncler exceeded initial projections of 1.4 billion euros, showcasing a strong 22 percent surge in sales when currency fluctuations are discounted. The company’s transition to monthly product launches aimed to appeal to a younger and more fashion-forward clientele, proving to be a savvy move in the competitive luxury fashion market.

Despite facing uncertainties stemming from economic and geopolitical factors, Moncler’s Chairman and Chief Executive, Remo Ruffini, remains positive about the brand’s growth trajectory. Ruffini’s optimistic outlook for Moncler’s future is underlined by his belief that challenges are opportunities for growth and development.

Moncler is best known for its stylish and high-quality puffer jackets, some of which retail for up to 1,000 euros. The brand recently announced a proposed dividend of 0.40 euros per share for the 2018 fiscal year, an increase from the previous year’s 0.28 euros per share. Additionally, the company’s adjusted EBITDA rose to 500.2 million euros from 411.6 million euros, surpassing market expectations, with core profit margins also showing improvement at 35.2 percent.

Looking to the future, Moncler is well-positioned for continued success by staying flexible and innovative in response to market trends. With a strong foundation in place and a promising outlook, the brand is poised to thrive in the competitive realm of luxury fashion.
