Moncler Announces Impressive Revenue Figures for Q2 2021

Italian luxury down jacket manufacturer Moncler has announced impressive revenue figures for the second quarter of 2021, indicating a strong recovery for the company. The relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions has played a significant role in this comeback, as consumers gradually return to physical retail experiences.

During this period, Moncler experienced a significant surge in sales of its own brand, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. This exceptional performance can partially be attributed to the recent acquisition of high-end streetwear brand Stone Island, which has contributed to Moncler’s overall revenue since April.

Even without factoring in the impact of the Stone Island acquisition, Moncler’s revenue in the April-to-June quarter soared by an impressive 118%, reaching 200 million euros as compared to the same period in the previous year. It’s important to note that this particular quarter was heavily affected by the pandemic, with widespread store closures and travel restrictions in place.

Furthermore, when compared to the second quarter of 2019, Moncler’s sales showed a noteworthy increase of 5%. It should be considered that the second quarter usually represents only a fifth of the company’s full-year sales due to the seasonality of the brand.

Moreover, Stone Island itself achieved remarkable sales figures in the second quarter, totaling 56.2 million euros.

In total, Moncler’s consolidated revenues for the quarter amounted to 256.3 million euros, surpassing the average analyst forecast of 248 million euros. This positive result further strengthens Moncler’s position in the luxury fashion industry and exemplifies the brand’s successful recovery from the challenges presented by the pandemic.

With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions and the addition of Stone Island to its portfolio, Moncler is well-positioned to sustain its growth trajectory and enhance its brand presence in the market. As consumers regain confidence and engage in more in-person shopping experiences, luxury brands like Moncler are poised to benefit from the pent-up demand for high-end fashion products.
