ModaLisboa’s 52nd Edition: Celebrating Portuguese Fashion and Culture

ModaLisboa is making a triumphant return with its highly anticipated 52nd edition, poised to inject new energy into the vibrant Portuguese fashion scene. In the wake of major fashion weeks in fashion capitals like New York, London, Milan, and Paris, Lisbon is gearing up to shine the spotlight on its own unique talent from March 8 to 10. ModaLisboa’s primary focus remains on celebrating national design and fostering emerging talent, making it a must-visit event for all fashion enthusiasts.

This edition of ModaLisboa promises to be a whirlwind of creativity and innovation, with a lineup that includes 31 stunning collections, 21 captivating runway shows, nine promising designers in the LAB category dedicated to emerging talents, and six finalists competing in the prestigious Sangue Novo competition. The event will take place at the iconic Pavilhão Carlos Lopes and will also feature three new dynamic spaces – Carpintarias de São Lázaro, The Mustik Warehouse, and the Tem-plate concept store in Marvila.

The excitement kicks off on Friday, March 8 with the eagerly anticipated Sangue Novo competition final and runway shows from renowned designers like Duarte, Carolina Machado, Valentim Quaresma, and Ricardo Preto. The following day will see showcases from emerging talents such as Constança Entrudo, João Magalhães, IMAUVE, and David Ferreira, along with established names like Carlos Gil, Awaytomars, Kolovrat, and Luís Carvalho. The event will culminate on Sunday with presentations from Nuno Gama, Andrew Coimbra, Gonçalo Peixoto, and many more.

This year, ModaLisboa has chosen the theme “Insight,” prompting individuals in the fashion industry to delve deeper into the essence of fashion. Eduarda Abbondanza, the president of ModaLisboa, has expressed that this theme encourages a profound reflection on the true meaning of fashion. Lisbon’s Mayor, Fernando Medina, has highlighted the event’s significant impact on the global stage and its role in positioning Lisbon as a cosmopolitan fashion destination.
