Miu Miu Surpasses Prada as Hottest Fashion Brand: Lyst Index Q3

Miu Miu, a fashion brand owned by Prada, has emerged as the hottest brand in the fashion world, surpassing its sister brand Prada in terms of popularity, according to the latest Lyst index for Q3. The brand experienced a 16% increase in searches during the quarter, thanks to the high demand for its hero products such as ballet flats, the Arcadie bag, and cashmere cardigans. With a string of must-have items in recent seasons, Miu Miu continues to thrive and shows no signs of slowing down.

In addition to Miu Miu, several other notable brands also made moves in the top 10 of the index. Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Moncler, Jacquemus, and Burberry all secured spots in the top rankings. Jacquemus, in particular, made an impressive jump, landing at number nine, its highest position since The Lyst Index began. The brand’s unique brand storytelling and viral VR marketing campaigns have contributed to the increased engagement and demand for its products. Overall, searches for Jacquemus rose by 17% in Q3.

The full top 10 list, in descending order, includes Miu Miu, Loewe, Prada, Bottega Veneta, Versace, Saint Laurent, Moncler, Valentino, Jacquemus, and Burberry. Diesel also made an appearance in the top 20, holding the eleventh spot. Gucci, Dior, Balenciaga, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Skims, Fendi, JW Anderson, and Ferragamo completed the top 20 list. Notably, Ferragamo made its first appearance in the top 20, indicating its growing popularity among consumers.

Apart from the top brands, the Lyst Index also highlights the hottest products of the quarter. Maison Margiela’s Tabi Mary Jane shoes claimed the top spot, experiencing a 342% increase in searches following the TikTok trend ‘The Tabi Swiper.’ Miu Miu’s logo cashmere cardigan secured the second spot, while Cos’s quilted bag came in third. The FW23 Martine Rose x Nike collaboration for the women’s World Cup was named the fourth hottest product. The top five was rounded out by Birkenstock, specifically the Arizona sandal, which saw a 110% increase in searches after being featured in a Barbie movie.

Celebrity influence also played a significant role in shaping fashion trends, as highlighted by the Lyst Index. Searches for Tory Burch spiked by 15% after celebrities like Bella Hadid, Suki Waterhouse, and Emily Ratajkowski were seen wearing the brand. Similarly, Helmut Lang saw a 19% increase in searches after Peter Do unveiled his first collection. Poster Girl, known for its feathered Tulia trousers, also experienced a 10% increase in searches.

Overall, the Lyst Index provides valuable insights into the fashion industry’s most popular brands and products. It underscores the impact of unique storytelling, viral marketing campaigns, and celebrity endorsements in driving engagement and demand. As the fashion landscape continues to evolve, brands will need to adapt their strategies to remain relevant and capture the attention of consumers.
