Mirror Mirror Music Festival: A Tribute to Virgil Abloh

Travis Scott, Acyde, Skepta, and other influential figures in the music industry are set to gather and celebrate the life of the multi-talented creator, Virgil Abloh, in a posthumous tribute. The “Mirror Mirror Music Festival” is scheduled to take place on December 3rd in Miami, Florida, as a way for fans to pay their respects to the late artist.

Following a brief exhibition at the Fondation Louis Vuitton and a retrospective at the Brooklyn Museum, this concert will serve as yet another opportunity to honor Virgil Abloh’s artistic achievements. The festival will be held at the FPL Solar Amphitheater in Bayfront Park and will showcase a lineup of musical performances. Headliners Travis Scott and Skepta, who shared a close connection with the creator, will grace the stage alongside other notable artists such as Yves Tumor, Pedro, Acyde, Rampa, Benji B, BAMBII, and Venus X.

The organizers of the event aim to create an intimate atmosphere, limiting ticket sales to approximately 8,000 seats in the concert hall. Profit from ticket sales will be donated to The Virgil Abloh Foundation, an organization set to launch in 2023 with the purpose of supporting young artists. This charitable initiative echoes Virgil Abloh’s commitment to inclusivity and mentorship, which was evident in his support for black fashion students through the Post-Modern fund and the “Free Game” mentoring platform.

The “Mirror Mirror Music Festival” was announced by Virgil Abloh Securities, the creative company founded by the late creator and now headed by his wife, Shannon Abloh. The event is a meaningful way for both the company and DJ/producer Benji B to highlight Virgil Abloh’s profound influence on the music industry.

While Virgil Abloh gained international recognition for his contributions to fashion, particularly through his roles at Louis Vuitton and Off-White, his impact on music should not be underestimated. As a lifelong DJ, collaborator with renowned artists like Kanye West, Kid Cudi, PNL, and ASAP Rocky, and someone who drew inspiration from music throughout his projects, Virgil Abloh established himself as a highly respected figure in the artistic realm.

The “Mirror Mirror Music Festival” promises to be a poignant tribute, serving as a platform for artists and fans to come together and celebrate the diverse talents and artistic contributions that Virgil Abloh brought to both fashion and music.
