Milan Prepares for Men’s Fashion Week

Following the successful Salone del Mobile and Milano Design Week, Milan is now preparing for Men’s Fashion Week. Set to take place from June 17 to June 21, this highly anticipated event will showcase a range of prestigious returning brands, as well as debutante designers and a variety of celebrations.

The CNMI Spring/Summer 2023 Milan Men’s Fashion Week will feature a total of 25 runway shows, with only five of them being presented digitally on the event’s final day. While the pandemic prompted the launch of an online platform by the National Chamber of Italian Fashion (CNMI), this year’s fashion week will predominantly return to in-person programming. Of the 70 scheduled appointments, including fashion shows and presentations, 65 will be held physically.

The grand finale of the week-long event will be Zegna’s fashion show, held at the brand’s headquarters in Trivero, situated 120 kilometers away from Milan. Taking place on June 21, this show will showcase the latest collection by Alessandro Sartori, set against the picturesque backdrop of the Oasi Zegna nature reserve.

Kicking off Men’s Fashion Week on Friday will be Dsquared2, marking the end of its co-ed shows. Versace, on the other hand, will make a comeback to the men’s calendar with its own menswear show on Saturday. While Gucci will be present at the event, they will forgo a traditional runway show in favor of a presentation. Other notable returning brands include Moschino, Plein Sport, Billionaire, and Marcelo Burlon County of Milan, which will host an extravagant “after show” party on Saturday night to celebrate its tenth anniversary. Boss will also throw a party to launch an exclusive collection created in collaboration with its ambassador, TikToker Khaby Lame.

One of the highlights of this season’s Men’s Fashion Week is the chance to witness the collections of designers who have previously been limited to digital presentations. Among them are Indian designer Dhruv Kapoor, the newly established luxury streetwear brand 44 Label Group by entrepreneur Claudio Antoniolo and Berlin-based DJ and producer Max Kosobil, and British designer Jonathan William Anderson, who previously showcased his collections in Paris and currently serves as the creative director of the Spanish luxury brand Loewe.

Additionally, three other names to watch out for this season include Chinese brand Joeone, designed by French designer Louis Gabriel Nouchi, Italian brands Family First, founded by Giorgio Mallone and Alessandro Zanchi in 2015, and Simon Cracker by designer Simone Botte.

Overall, Men’s Fashion Week in Milan is set to be an exhilarating and highly anticipated event, uniting established brands, emerging designers, and a captivating lineup of runway shows, presentations, and parties. It serves as an unparalleled celebration of menswear and a testament to Milan’s position as a global fashion capital.
