Michael Kors and Ashya Collaborate to Create Limited-Edition Collection

Fashion brand Michael Kors and emerging accessories brand Ashya have joined forces to create an exciting collaboration. The result is a limited-edition collection featuring two exclusive bags: ‘The Multi Bag’ and ‘The Bolo Bag’. These bags showcase a custom print called Saga Signature, which incorporates the MK Signature logo in a new pattern inspired by West African woven textiles.

The Multi Bag is a versatile accessory that can be worn as a crossbody or a belt bag, catering to the needs of individuals with different style preferences. On the other hand, the smaller Bolo Bag offers multiple wearing options, including around the neck, waist, or as a crossbody. Both bags come in classic black or brown, providing a timeless appeal.

It is worth noting that this collaboration is particularly significant for Michael Kors as the brand celebrates its 40th anniversary. In honor of this milestone, Kors wanted to shine a spotlight on a rising star in the industry. Ashya was the perfect choice due to its alignment with Kors’ vision of pared-down luxury. Founded in 2017 by Ashley Cimone and Moya Annece, Ashya is a Brooklyn-based brand known for its functional and utilitarian bags with a touch of luxury. The duo’s unique approach has gained them recognition, making them an excellent fit for this collaboration.

In a joint statement, Annece and Cimone expressed their enthusiasm for the partnership and shed light on the inspiration behind the designs. They sought to pay homage to their cultural roots through the incorporation of West African weaving techniques. By highlighting the artistic value of these designs, the bags serve as a symbolic representation of the special bond between the two brands.

The Bolo Bag is priced at $298, while the Multi Bag is available for $498. Both styles can be purchased on the Michael Kors website, making them accessible to fashion enthusiasts and fans of both brands. This collaboration not only brings together two distinct styles but also showcases the limitless creativity and innovation that emerges from partnerships between established luxury brands and emerging designers.
