McArthurGlen Group Promotes Michael Natas to Managing Director of Development

McArthurGlen Group, the leading outlets giant, has recently promoted Michael Natas to the role of Managing Director of Development. In this new position, Natas will report to Joan Jove, the group’s Co-CEO, and take charge of leading the Development and Construction teams in implementing McArthurGlen’s asset development strategy across its 25 designer outlets in Europe and Canada.

One of Natas’s key responsibilities will be overseeing an active development pipeline that is projected to deliver an additional 50,000 square meters of gross leasable area (GLA) in the coming years. McArthurGlen has ambitious plans for significant international expansion, with projects in outlets near Vancouver, Birmingham, and Málaga. Furthermore, several refurbishment and enhancement projects are also in the works.

Since joining McArthurGlen in 2005 as a Development Manager, Natas has successfully executed increasingly large investment projects throughout Europe. His remarkable progress within the company led to his appointment as Joint Managing Director for Development in 2017. Under his leadership, the retail space of McArthurGlen has more than doubled, expanding from 300,000 square meters to an impressive 685,000 square meters.

Gary Bond, the previous Managing Director of Development, will transition into the role of Executive Development Advisor, providing crucial support for development activities and strategy. Natas’s promotion has been met with confidence by Joan Jove, who highlights his involvement in notable projects such as the realization of Designer Outlet Paris-Giverny, the development of Designer Outlet Provence, and the opening of Designer Outlet Málaga in Spain. Jove believes that Natas is the ideal candidate to lead the Development team into its next chapter.

With Natas’s extensive experience and McArthurGlen’s ambitious plans for expansion and enhancement, the company is poised to further solidify its position as the premier destination for designer outlets in Europe and Canada. This promotion reflects McArthurGlen’s dedication to growth and innovation in the retail industry.
