Maxime Leroy: French Feather Worker with Exceptional Talent

Maxime Leroy, the French feather worker, has recently achieved recognition for his exceptional talent and craftsmanship. Residing in his workshop in Paris’ 18th arrondissement, Leroy demonstrates immense passion and dedication in his work. With his neck adorned with tattoos, one might initially mistake him for a member of a rock ‘n’ roll band. However, it is in the art of feather working that he specializes.

Leroy painstakingly shapes and molds natural feathers, creating exquisite and unique designs for luxury fashion houses. In addition to his work in feather working, he has also collaborated with various industries such as art, photography, cinema, and design. In 2013, Leroy founded Maison M.Marceau and has since been recognized for his exceptional expertise.

One such recognition is the Jeune Création Métiers d’Art 2017 prize. This prestigious competition, organized by Ateliers Art de France, aims to highlight and support the talents of a new generation of artisan creators. Ateliers Art de France is a professional union that brings together over 6,000 artisans throughout France.

During the event, two other creators were also awarded for their exceptional craftsmanship. Marie Masson was recognized for her contemporary jewelry creations, while Antonin Mongin received distinction for his textile hair embellishment craft.

The impressive creations of Maxime Leroy and the other award-winning artisans will be showcased in an exhibition and sale at Empreintes, a concept store dedicated to Métiers d’Art. This exciting event will take place from April 23 to August 20, 2017.
