Maus Frères Acquires The Kooples: Strategic Leadership Changes Ahead

Maus Frères, the Swiss conglomerate well-known for its ownership of prestigious brands such as Lacoste, Aigle, and Gant, has recently received the green light from the French competition authority to acquire The Kooples. This acquisition marks a significant step for Maus Frères International, and the company’s CEO, Thierry Guibert, has wasted no time in initiating his strategic plans by reorganizing the management team at The Kooples.

Taking the reins at The Kooples is Romain Guinier, who has led Aigle as CEO since 2008. Guinier’s successful track record at Aigle, a brand known for its practical gear, demonstrates his capability as a seasoned leader poised to tackle the challenges of The Kooples. Under his guidance, Aigle has thrived both domestically in France and on an international scale, with revenue projected to surpass 200 million euros this year, a significant increase from the 140 million euros generated when Guinier assumed his role.

The Kooples, founded by siblings Elicha Dreyfus and Nicolas in 2009, presents a unique set of obstacles distinct from those encountered at Aigle. Nonetheless, Guinier’s diverse background, encompassing roles at prominent brands like Celio and Louis Vuitton, equips him with the expertise needed to navigate the fashion-centric realm of The Kooples. With reported revenues of 227 million euros last year, Guinier will play a vital role in executing Maus Frères’ strategies to propel the brand to new heights.

Following Guinier’s transition to The Kooples, Aigle’s new CEO will be Sandrine Conseiller, who has served as Lacoste’s VP of marketing since 2015. Conseiller’s proficiency in beauty and haircare, honed during her tenure at Unilever, along with her knowledge of the Asian market, positions her as the ideal candidate to guide Aigle toward its next phase of expansion.

Collectively, these changes within Maus Frères’ brand portfolio signify an exciting period of evolution and advancement. With experienced leaders such as Romain Guinier and Sandrine Conseiller assuming new roles, The Kooples and Aigle are poised for continued success and growth under Maus Frères’ stewardship.
