Marie Schneier Steps Down as Head of Communications and Corporate Branding at the Federation de la Haute Couture et de la Mode

Marie Schneier, who has been the head of communications and corporate branding for the Federation de la Haute Couture et de la Mode for the past five years, is stepping down from her position. This unexpected move has come as a surprise to many within the industry, as Schneier has played a crucial role in overseeing all six annual fashion weeks in Paris.

In an email titled “New Departure,” Schneier expressed her gratitude for the enriching collaboration she had experienced during her time at the Federation. Although she will no longer hold her current position, she assured her colleagues that she will continue to follow certain institutional files and provide updates periodically.

Interestingly, Schneier’s departure aligns with the recent announcement made by the Federation regarding the provisional calendar for the upcoming Paris Fashion Week. With 92 fashion houses set to present their collections and 37 live catwalk shows scheduled from September 27 to October 5, the event is expected to be a significant showcase for the industry.

Schneier joined the Federation during a period of rapid change, which saw the appointments of Ralph Toledano as president and Pascal Morand as executive president. Under their leadership, the Federation upgraded its online platform and worked on strengthening Paris’s position as a leading fashion capital alongside London, Milan, and New York.

At present, the Federation has not named a successor for Schneier, but they have already initiated the search for a suitable replacement. Pascal Morand, expressing his appreciation for Schneier’s contributions, stated that she will continue to collaborate on special projects with the organization.

Guillaume Robin, the Federation’s development, communication, and events director, served as Schneier’s direct supervisor during her time at the organization. Looking ahead, Schneier has expressed her interest in seeking opportunities related to high-end branding and sustainability, with a potential focus on human resources or nurturing young talent.

As she reflects on her experience, Schneier fondly speaks about the collaboration with Pascal and Ralph, highlighting the chance to work alongside highly skilled individuals. She describes her time at the Federation as enriching, within a dynamic and ever-evolving structure. Now, at 48 years old and with a young daughter, Schneier believes it is the right time for a change.

Marie Schneier’s departure from the Federation de la Haute Couture et de la Mode marks the end of a successful collaboration and opens up a new chapter for her in the fashion industry.
