Maison Margiela Appoints New CEO and President

Maison Margiela, the French luxury fashion label owned by OTB, has made changes in its leadership, appointing Gaetano Sciuto as the new CEO and Stefano Rosso as the president. Both will report to Ubaldo Minelli, the CEO of OTB group. Sciuto will assume his position on July 17, replacing Gianfranco Gianangeli, who has left the company by mutual agreement. Rosso, a member of OTB’s board and the CEO of Brave Virtual Xperience, has taken over as the president, succeeding his father Renzo.

Renzo Rosso, president of OTB, expressed his confidence in Stefano Rosso, stating that his new role marks a significant milestone in his career progression. The appointments of Rosso and Sciuto are expected to play a crucial role in enhancing Maison Margiela’s potential and driving its expansion. Minelli also welcomed the new appointments, emphasizing Sciuto’s extensive experience in the luxury industry and thanking Gianangeli for his previous work.

Sciuto brings more than 30 years of experience in the fashion and luxury sector, holding a degree in business economics from Bocconi University in Milan. Prior to joining Maison Margiela, he served as the CEO of Giorgio Armani Americas. He also held various senior positions at Fendi, including president of the Americas and head of global licenses and accessories.

OTB, headed by Renzo Rosso, is the parent company of several fashion labels, including Diesel, Jil Sander, Marni, and Viktor & Rolf. The group, which has a workforce of over 6,000 employees worldwide, achieved a revenue of €1.7 billion in 2022. Apart from Maison Margiela, OTB also controls Staff International and Brave Kid, and holds a stake in American denim label Amiri. The new appointments reflect OTB’s commitment to driving growth and innovation within its brand portfolio.
