After private conversations from LVMH and the success of Chanel’s 3.55 podcast, Maison Hermès has decided to share its story through its very first podcasts. These audio adventures offer a guided tour into the world of luxury at Hermès. Consisting of nine episodes, each ranging from eight to twenty minutes long, the podcasts provide a closer look at the daily lives of the teams working at the iconic store located at 24 rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré in Paris.
Each episode takes listeners on a private tour of the different floors of the flagship store, introducing the individuals who represent the expertise and craftsmanship of the prestigious brand. From master gardeners to chefs, artistic directors to illustrators, and even the guardian of the Emile Hermès Museum, the series, titled “Le Faubourg des Rêves,” explores a gallery of fascinating professions and personalities.
One of the episodes features Valérie Bénardeau, who is responsible for Special Orders and Leather on the fifth floor. She discusses the complexity of fulfilling customers’ wildest desires and shares her current project of creating a custom piece for a 13-year-old girl. In her narrative, Bénardeau captures the suspense and excitement surrounding the presentation of the finished piece to the client, along with the accompanying gestures that make the experience special.
Another episode showcases the dynamic Camille Parenty, the Store Director. She shares insights into her observation position and offers her perspective on her profession. Parenty also entertains listeners with incredible anecdotes about some of the most absurd customer requests she has encountered.
Throughout the podcasts, the background noise captures the ambiance of the flagship store, with whispers of visitors blending with the sounds of workshop tools. This perfectly reflects the continuous excitement that permeates Hermès’ store, recently recognized as the favorite company by its employees on Glassdoor.
