Madrid Fashion Week Summer 2020 Dates Changed to June for Global Reach

Madrid Fashion Week is gearing up for its summer edition in 2020 with a significant change in dates. Originally scheduled for July, the fashion extravaganza will now take place from June 23-28. This shift comes as a response to feedback from designers who have expressed a strong preference for the new timing, aiming to attract more international attention and visitors.

Nuria de Miguel, the director of Madrid Fashion Week, revealed the decision to move the dates after consulting with designers who welcomed the change. In previous editions, the fashion week had already been rescheduled from September to July in a bid to enhance its global reach.

The adjustment in dates was officially announced under the new leadership following the departure of former director Charo Izquierdo. Modesto Lomba, the president of the Spanish fashion design association, emphasized the importance of this change for the future growth of Spanish fashion on the global stage.

During the last edition of Madrid Fashion Week, over 40 talented designers displayed their latest collections for spring/summer 2020. This strategic move is seen as a pivotal step towards establishing Spanish fashion on the international scene, as highlighted in a recent press release from Ifema.

Fashion enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Madrid Fashion Week in January 2020, where designers will once again showcase their cutting-edge creations. The fashion week continues to evolve and adapt to meet the evolving demands of the industry, cementing its status as a must-attend event on the global fashion calendar.
