Mackage Unveils First Flagship Stores in Paris and Launches Exclusive Capsule Collection

Mackage, the renowned luxury outerwear brand, is making its presence known in the fashion capital of Paris by unveiling its first flagship stores on the prestigious rue St Honoré. This momentous occasion is complemented by the launch of the exclusive Saint-Honoré capsule collection, which pays homage to the brand’s Montreal roots and celebrates the city’s rich heritage. Known for their impeccable craftsmanship and exquisite materials, Mackage’s winter outerwear pieces are not only luxurious but also lightweight, blending striking silhouettes with flawless finishes.

In an interview with CEO Tanya Golesic, she expressed her enthusiasm for introducing Mackage to the vibrant Parisian market and shared the brand’s vision for the future. When questioned about the timing of the Paris opening, Golesic mentioned that they had originally planned for an earlier launch but had faced setbacks due to global fabrications and material shortages. Nevertheless, she exuded satisfaction with the final outcome, highlighting that the store encapsulates Mackage’s essence and flawlessly showcases their products.

Golesic, in collaboration with Toronto-based design team Burdifilek, aimed to ensure that the focus of the store’s design remained on the product itself. The objective was to create a space that would accentuate the quality and craftsmanship of Mackage’s pieces. While expanding globally with the recent opening of their showroom in Manhasset, New York, Golesic emphasized that Paris would always serve as the brand’s main stage.

The decision to debut an exclusive capsule collection in Paris was driven by the team’s desire to offer something exceptional to the city. Golesic believes that in the aftermath of the pandemic, people crave and value distinct and special local experiences. Alongside the Paris capsule collection, Mackage has planned ski activations in Megève and sponsorship of a snow polo team for the Kitzbühel championships, all of which fall under their overarching European strategy.

Discussing the brand’s global presence, Golesic disclosed that Mackage currently boasts 18 stores in North America and Europe, with an additional 20 stores in Korea, Japan, and China. However, she underscored the brand’s dedication to enhancing the brand experience in every store and establishing Mackage as a lifestyle brand.

Golesic’s excitement for the Fall 2023 collection was palpable as she also expressed cautious optimism about the brand’s expansion in China. Mackage is set to introduce a top-of-the-pyramid collection featuring designer pieces with elevated price points. The brand is shifting away from logo-driven designs and directing its focus towards creating exceptional floor-length coats and exquisite shearling jackets, all Made in Italy. Furthermore, there will be a heightened emphasis on men’s skiwear and an active sport collection.

Regarding Mackage’s current business status, Golesic revealed that they are currently generating revenue in the nine to ten-figure range. With annual sales surpassing $200 million, Mackage’s success is undeniably remarkable. However, Golesic humorously admitted that she would require an extra dose of caffeine to delve into the specifics of the figures, given that the interview took place during the early hours of the morning in New York.

Overall, Mackage’s debut in Paris signifies an exhilarating new chapter for the brand. With their meticulous attention to detail, unwavering commitment to superior quality, and unparalleled designs, Mackage is poised to leave an indelible mark on the global fashion stage.
