Lyst’s Ranking of Most Searched Brands and Products

The fashion search engine, Lyst, has released its ranking of the most searched brands and products on its platform for the period from January to March 2022. With over 160 million users each year, Lyst’s list provides valuable insights into the latest fashion trends and consumer preferences.

Topping the list is Balenciaga, maintaining its position as the most searched brand on Lyst’s platform. Balenciaga experienced a remarkable 108% increase in demand over the past three months, solidifying its reign as a fashion powerhouse. Following closely behind is Gucci, another brand from the Kering Group, and Louis Vuitton, which has moved up one spot in the rankings. The top 20 list showcases a diverse mix of brands, with Diesel making a significant jump from 46th to 15th place. This impressive rise can be attributed to several factors, including the brand’s successful fashion show in Milan, influential celebrity endorsements, and its venture into the NFT space.

On the luxury side, Miu Miu has seen a remarkable surge in popularity, moving up from 20th to 10th place. This growth can be attributed to the brand’s return to menswear, a successful collaboration with New Balance, and the viral success of its “That Viral Skirt Set” ensemble.

In contrast, Saint Laurent has dropped 10 points in the rankings, falling from 8th to 18th place. Despite this decline, the brand still experienced a 43% increase in sales compared to the first quarter of 2021, with strong performances in Western Europe and North America.

The most popular products of the quarter reveal an interesting mix of trends. For men, street culture dominates, with items like the New Balance P550 Aime Leon Dore sneakers and the Prada triangle strap bag taking the spotlight. On the other hand, women’s fashion preferences showcase a contrasting aesthetic. The most sought-after items include a pair of high-heeled platform boots from Naked Wolfe and fur-lined Ugg boots. According to the report, this variety reflects the current fashion obsession with youth culture from the early 2000s and the impact of TikTok trends.
