Lyst Rankings for Most Sought-After Brands and Products: April-June 2022

The Lyst search engine recently released its rankings of the most sought-after brands and products on its platform from April to June 2022. One major takeaway from the rankings is the strong comeback of Gucci. After nine months of dominance, Balenciaga has been dethroned by Gucci, which has surged to the top of the most searched brands list. Gucci experienced a remarkable increase in searches (+286%) in June, specifically in the 48 hours following the launch of its collaboration with sportswear brand Adidas. Balenciaga, benefiting from the leverage effect of its capsule collection with Yeezy Gap, secured second place in the rankings, followed by Prada in third place.

A notable mention goes to Dolce & Gabbana, which climbed seven places to claim the 15th position in the rankings. The brand’s visibility received a significant boost when Kourtney Kardashian wore one of their wedding dresses, resulting in a +114% increase in searches. Additionally, Jacquemus made a return to the Top 20, propelled by the unveiling of its new collection, including co-created pieces with Nike, in Salin-de-Giraud at the end of June.

Conversely, Bottega Veneta and Off-White, both under new creative direction, experienced a decline in their rankings, dropping nine and eight places respectively. Moncler also suffered, falling 11 places.

Collaborations continue to be in the spotlight, as the ranking of the most popular products for this quarter attests. Four out of the six most coveted men’s and women’s products are the result of collaborations. Examples include the Adidas sneakers in collaboration with Gucci and Wales Bonner Samba, the Hoodie born from the collaboration between Yeezy Gap and Balenciaga, and the trompe-l’oeil dress by Jean Paul Gaultier and Lotta Volkova, paying homage to Gaultier’s Spring-Summer 96 collection. Lyst experts state that these collaborations aim to “stimulate a new generation of archive-loving buyers who want to purchase a piece of the brand’s history.”
