Lyst Expands with French Version

Lyst, the popular fashion search engine, has introduced its French version to expand its reach in Europe. Founded by entrepreneur Chris Morton in 2010, Lyst operates as a search engine that directs users to various brand marketplaces and e-shops, earning a commission on each purchase made. The platform lists over five million fashion products, including clothing, shoes, and accessories for both men and women. It boasts over 12,000 partner brands, mainly luxury and high-end.

With over 70 million consumers in 120 countries, Lyst has experienced significant growth, reporting a 45% increase in revenue to reach 270 million euros last year. This success has attracted the attention of investors, including luxury giant LVMH, which reportedly invested 50 million euros in the company in May. The recent expansion into France is part of Lyst’s strategy to further penetrate the European and Asian markets, as it currently generates the majority of its revenue from the United States.

The key to Lyst’s success lies in its mastery of search data. The platform has analyzed the consumption behaviors of over five million buyers per month, evaluating Lyst and Google searches alongside social media metrics, such as mentions, engagement, and sentiment. This data analysis has allowed Lyst to compile a ranking of the most sought-after luxury brands and products in the third quarter of 2018.

According to Lyst’s findings, Off/White was the most searched brand in Q3, with searches mentioning the label increasing by 14% compared to the previous quarter. Gucci secured the second spot, followed by Balenciaga, Nike, and Prada. Dior’s saddle bag emerged as the top luxury product, experiencing a surge in searches after its revival by the brand almost two decades after its initial creation. Other notable items on the list include Off/White’s logo belt and denim jacket, Gucci’s jewel-covered sneakers, and a skirt from Danish brand Ganni.

Lyst’s success and its focus on improving consumer knowledge through artificial intelligence and data management have positioned it as a leader in the fashion search engine industry. As the company expands further into new markets, it aims to continue offering valuable insights and personalized experiences for fashion enthusiasts worldwide.
